• The Tickets are only availabe for those who have already bought tickets for PyCon.
  PyCon課程票僅提供給已購買PyCon主活動票的會眾。

• The tutorial will be held if there are more than 4 participants. PyCon will return full ticket price if the tutorial is cancelled.
  報名人數達 5 人即開班，未滿 5 人則流團退還全額報名費。

• For those who bought the ticket without qualifacation above, PyCon will return the money with excluding the administration fee.
  不符資格者，大會將扣除行政費用後退餘款。

Tutorial Info

• Abstract

Database with High Availability is so much important to the application reliability.  

The tutorial is setup to guide thru from the creation of redundant MySQL Database Instances with Group Replication.

The Group of MySQL Database Instances is setup so that the data is synchronized and replicated across all database instances.   MySQL Router is setup to allow python application to connect to the group of servers without knowing the details.   The Routing setup is done within the MySQL Router.

The tutorial will go thru the following

• Installing MySQL Database

• Creating multiple instances of MySQL Databases

• Enabling and Configuring the Group of MySQL Servers as Group Replication

• Seting up MySQL Router to point to the group of MySQL Servers

• Running simple mysql client to MySQL Router into the Group of MySQL Servers (with Group Replication)

• Creating simple python application connecting to MySQL Router into the Group of MySQL Servers (with Group Replication)

The full tutorial shows the creation of reliable service for Python Application.

1. Briefing and Introduction (20 mins)

2. Envrionment Setup (20mins)

3. Installing MySQL Database (15 mins) - Once installed, run a few test.

4. Creating multiple instances (extra 3 more) of MySQL Databases - 15 mins (Ready-made configuration are provided)

5. Enabling and Configuring the Group of MySQL Servers as Group Replication - 30 mins

6. Seting up MySQL Router to point to the group of MySQL Servers - 15 mins

7. Running simple mysql client to MySQL Router into the Group of MySQL Servers (with Group Replication) - 10 mins

8. Creating simple python application connecting to MySQL Router into the Group of MySQL Servers (with Group Replication) - 10 mins Wrapup Presentation - Python Conneting MySQL (20 mins)

Total : 165 mins : Estimated : 2.5 to 3 hours

• Requirement

Firstly, the VM image will be provided.  Each participant is required to bring in notebook with Virtualbox installation.  

Disk Space Requirements : 20G

USB flash disk to be prepared.

- VM image

- Virtualbox installation (just in case)
